I’m tired at the core. Like in my bones. It’s a big week. And year. But I'm good. It's good.

I see my daughter Wednesday for the first time since May. We spent an hour on the phone yesterday, much of it singing phone Karaoke. We’ll have a picnic and skateboard and play and fall back into the way we always are — kindred spirits.

I invited her and her dad to the pier and watch us paddle Thursday. We'll see if they come.

I’m starting a new job that was supposed to have started already. I’m looking forward to it. Good people, beautiful place, chill work. I could see myself staying with them for a long while. Maybe forever. The consistency will be nice.

Court is Friday and I’m getting flack about it, fear talk, some constructive advice. I’m fighting for my life. Not sure what will happen. Will they let me talk? Will this be an evidentiary review? Will I get my ass handed to me? I don’t know. I’m challenging the dangerous and crazy narrative.

Good practice at least – all these scuffles with the law have inspired me to go to law school. I’ll be starting LSAT prep after State Competition in prep for Feb early application. Wish me luck. Civil Rights is my interest at this point. Gutting the system from the inside out. Kicking ass and taking names.

States are Saturday – currently our team is holding position for top in our division (Moku Champions what?!?!?!). This is the first competitive athletic activity I’ve attempted in earnest so it’s somewhat of a miracle that I was allowed to be captain and steersman, and that we are doing so incredibly well. I credit the crossfit girls and guys and their giant muscles and steely wills, but I’m pretty stubborn myself and right now forcing everyone to practice pivot turns and surf the canoe any opportunity I can get away with it.

My phone is working again culminating in 4 days of wrestling with AT&T over it. Normally it’s just waterlogged or lost. I also lost it on 4th of July for a week and it was found by a homeless friend buried in the sand under a canoe. It's 2 months old. The last one was killed surfing. It’s always something with the phone.

Also I’m in love. Some are worried he’s a distraction. I’ll tell you he’s healing my heart. Also it's not his fault.

It's nice to have something calm and uncomplicated amidst the shitfest and all the rest. The biggest issue is the circumstances and inevitable fall-out. Funny I fell in love with him for his integrity and here we are bottoming it all out. I have a sense it will all pan out in the end.

In other news, a beautiful man I adore took me Salsa dancing over the weekend and we had so much fun. We both needed it so bad. There will be more. Much more.

Stay tuned for what happens on Friday and Saturday. Big Days.
